Hello 101soccer blog!
For what its worth…it is very nice to see the US Men start to learn how to win on foreign soil. First in the Swiss Alps, and now in the land of the Kaiser Chiefs. Gotta be able to produce 1-0, tight wins when you’re far away from home, and put the hurtin’ on when on American soil. Hopefully this can become some type of normalcy, and we can continue to grind out wins with young squads. Sooner or later, that young squad is going to be THE squad, and they will know how to win at home and away. Maybe we can break the evil spell games in Europe have cast over American Soccer for once and for all!

No doubt Jeff, I could not have said it better myself. It is exciting to see these wins on the road, especially from what looks to be a very promising young squad. If they can continue to grind it out and get Ws on the road, that bodes well for this team’s confidence come 2010 at the Cup. Who knows, we could be covering what will one day be the greatest group of American men the world has seen. Only time will tell that much.
To me the real kicker would have been a win during the Copa America. If this team had collected wins on four different continents in one year that would have really been something. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this year for US Soccer? I would say an 8, with the biggest disappointment coming in Sweden against Zlatan Ibrahimovic and company.
At Copa America, we could expect nothing b/c we fielded a secondary squad, and in Chicago against Brazil, the 4-2 tally doesn’t do justice to what a close game that was.
Ouch, Jeff. That one must have really hurt.
Yes. Yes it did. Real bad. we did not play well, and your trojans…well they are pretty darn good. I accept defeat humbly, and wish you well in your qwest for the conference title.
