Two horse race is on in Spain

Usually it takes at least a couple of months, sometimes as much as 70-80% of the season, but the race for the title in Spain’s La Liga is already down to perhaps the greatest archrivals in all of football, Real Madrid and Barcelona.  Sevilla have already lost manager Juande Ramos to Tottenham Hotspur, and despite a 3-0 win over Valencia on Sunday, you have to imagine that the Andalucians will be focused on the Champions League considering they sit 10 points behind leaders Real.  Not to mention a number of players have already been linked with moves to Spurs.

Valencia, despite sitting third in the table on 18 points, earlier today fired their manager, Quique Sanchez Flores as they still have yet to find a strong replacement to Rafa Benitez.

Villareal, also on 18, were a massive disapointment over the weekend, losing to Real Zaragosa 4-1.

With new players for both Real and Barca still finding their stride, these two teams best football is still in front of them.

Soccer fans around the world will get an early Christmas present when Real and Barca meet in the Super Clasico on December 23rd at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
